The Preparatory Committee for the China-Indonesia Industrial Technology Innovation and Talent Development Center was Officially Established.

Jakarta, May 22, 2026: A meeting between representatives of Chinese companies, the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI), and the Indonesia–China Center for Education and Industry Cooperation (ICC) was held at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI) campus in Salemba, Central Jakarta. The event, organized by the ICC and FTUI, was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMENDIKTISAINTEK). The meeting resulted in the establishment of the Preparatory Committee for the China–Indonesia Center for Industrial Technology Innovation and Talent Development as a strategic step to strengthen collaboration between the education and industry sectors of both countries. The event focused on discussing various opportunities for collaboration between Indonesian and Chinese universities and companies, including talent development, joint scientific research, and the integration of education and industry to support innovation and human resource development. The event was attended by several prominent figures, including: Ridwan Aldilah, Special Representative of KEMENDIKTISAINTEK; Prof. Dr. Ir. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI), Arif Priambodo as Senior Advisor to the ICC, Selamat Nurdin as Senior Advisor to the ICC, Ren Tianwei, Executive Director of the ICC, and other stakeholders from the education and industry sectors. In addition, several representatives from Chinese companies participated in this activity, including Zhu Guoqing (Deputy Director of External Affairs, Huawei Indonesia), Gou Guangbo (Chief Representative Indonesia, China National Chemical Engineering Sixth Construction Co., Ltd.), Zhang Zhongjiao (Vice President of Wanshinda Group Indonesia), Xu Pengyun (Vice President of GEM Co., Ltd.), and Han Xu (Chairman of the Indonesia–China Business Center). During the discussion session, university and company representatives discussed various collaboration opportunities, including the construction of joint laboratories, the development of training centers, scientific research cooperation, and matching technology needs between industry and educational institutions. At the meeting, participants also agreed to establish a Preparatory Committee for the China–Indonesia Industrial Technology Innovation and Talent Development Center. The center's secretariat will be located at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia, as a coordination base for various future collaborative programs. This center is planned to become a platform for collaboration in technological transformation, joint scientific research, and the development of curriculum standards in various strategic fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, new energy, the digital economy, smart manufacturing, and the downstream mining industry. In addition, the center will also host various activities to strengthen relations between Indonesia and China, such as cultural exchanges, industrial and educational cooperation forums, and exploration of technology projects involving universities and businesses from both countries. Through this platform, it is hoped that Indonesia-China cooperation in education, technology, industry, and talent development can continue to be strengthened to encourage innovation, improve the quality of human resources, and provide sustainable benefits for both countries.
